Rediscovering Deuteronomy & Numbers

I'm still plugging away at the challenge to read the Bible in 90 days over here.

This pasty week was a full one dealing with very hot temperatures and also packing to get the kids ready for a week of camp and vacation. I am glad to be able to say I am caught up to date with the reading schedule. I found myself underlining verses all over the place which surprized me a bit as I always thought of these books as sleep inducers. There are some great verses in there that remind us of Who God is and what he is like. Here are the daily facebook status updates for the week:

Bible in 90 days Day 8 Lev. 1:1 - 14:32
Lev. 11: 45 For I am the LORD, who brought you up from the land of Egypt, to be your God; this you shall be holy for I am holy.

Bible in 90 days Day 9 Lev 14:33 - Lev 26:26
Lev 26:11, 12 Moreover, I will make My dwelling among you, and My soul will not reject you. I will also walk among you and be your God, and you shall be My people.

Bible in 90 days Day 10 Lev 26:27 - Numbers 8:14
Num 6: 24-26 The LORD bless you, and keep you; The LORD make His face shine on you, And be gracious to you; The LORD lift up His countenance on you, and give you peace.

Bible in 90 days Day 11 (I got caught up while waiting in line this morning)
Numbers 8:15 - 21:7
Num 11:23 And the LORD said to Moses, "Is the LORD's power limited? Now you shall see whether My word will come true for you or not."
Num 14:18a The LORD is slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, forgiving iniquity and transgression; but He will by no means clear the guilty ....

Bible in 90 Days Day 12 (Fri) Numbers 21:8 - 32:19
Numbers 22:18 Though Balak were to give me his house full of silver and gold, I could not do anything, either small or great, contrary to the command of the LORD my God.

Bible in 90 Days Day 13 Numbers 32:20 - Deut. 7:26
Deut 6:5 You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

Bible in 90 days Day 14 (Sunday) Deut 8:1 - 23:11
Deut 10:12 Now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require from you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul,

Bible in 90 Days Day 15 (today) Deut 23:12 - 34:12
Deut 32:4 4"The Rock! His work is perfect, For all His ways are just; A God of faithfulness and without injustice, Righteous and upright is He.

How is the reading coming this week? Vacation can be a challenge for reading, but I know you can catch right up when you put your heart to it. Hang in there!

I didn't make the read through the Bible in 90 days. :( I was so discouraged about it, but I am still plugging away at it.
