Be careful what you ask a kid!

I got my hair cut last Friday. It had been long for the summer so I could pull it back in a pony tail to deal with the hot weather. I figure the temperatures will be dropping now and the bangs were almost to my nose so IT WAS TIME. My wonderful husband told me not to cut too much because he really liked how it looked Sunday when I took the time to curl it and all, but I don't have time for that kind of maintenance every day. So I went off to the hairdresser's and enjoyed a mini massage in the massage-chair while they washed my hair and then had my hair bobbed back up to chin length. I picked the kids up at school and brought them home, waited for the oldest to come home, had lunch together and took off to meet Daddy and some friends for a picnic. No-one had yet commented on Mom's new do. So I finally turned to the kids and said "So, no-one notices anything new about Mom?"
My 7 year old takes a good look at me and then asks, "Mom, why are you looking so old lately?"
Note to self: Next time, Don't ask!
